Formerly known as the Snowbird Concert Series, the Songbird Concert Series is a free, all-ages music program presented by OYOU (Own Your Own Universe) with support from the City of San Marcos. Held monthly at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, the series enriches the cultural life of Central Texas by featuring acclaimed local, regional, and touring artists in an accessible, welcoming environment.

 

More than a concert, each event includes an audience Q&A and encore, offering attendees the opportunity to connect directly with performers and gain insight into the creative process. With attendance averaging 100–150 guests per event, the series attracts a diverse audience, including families, older adults, individuals with disabilities, and community members who may otherwise face barriers to arts participation.

 

By offering free admission, accessible venues, complimentary refreshments, and family-friendly programming, the Songbird Concert Series removes financial and social barriers to the arts while fostering community connection, lifelong learning, and cultural engagement. The series also supports San Marcos’ creative economy by bringing residents and visitors together to celebrate music, community, and the vibrant spirit of the Texas Hill Country.

Through the generosity of donors, sponsors, and community partners, the Songbird Concert Series continues to provide meaningful arts experiences that inspire, connect, and strengthen our community — one song at a time.
