The OYOU ("Own Your Own Universe") Center for the Creative Arts, is a 501 C3 non-profit servicing both Hays and Guadalupe County. The OYOU provides a variety of workshops, concerts, programs, lessons, and group discussion to the entire community — regardless of income or mobility issues.
Our programs take place at multiple locations. See Events for the exact address and location of each program.
We are currently hosting limited seating programs and events at Wilory Farm on 9191 FM 1979, Martindale, Texas, 78655. It's a gated entrance and reservations are required in advance for each program. For both security reasons and limited seating, we do not allow walk-ins — even if you are a regular. Never just "show up" here. You will set off the alarm.
There are various ways to get here, for your first time, we recommend the following:
Directions from Interstate 35 North or South. Exit to Highway 80. You want to head towards Luling/Lockhart
Take Highway 80 and pass the Walmart on the left. Keep going on 80 to . Go through the traffic light at Martindale. Watch for the Dollar General on the right. 1979 is the next road on the right. Wilory Farm is 1.4 miles once you make that turn onto 1979. You will pass a sign on the right that says “entering Guadalupe County.” You will then cross the San Marcos River. Don’t turn into “Martindale Falls” on the left or “Martindale Falls Way.” Your GPS might try and have you do this. Don’t listen. Immediately past this subdivision is our location. We are on the left. Turn into the gravel driveway. There are artificial sunflowers marking the gate.
If you don't come from Highway 80, we are immediately after the sign that reads “Tatum Rd” to the left and “Martindale Falls Way” to the right. This sign is on the right. Our gate is located immediately after this sign.
We have just relocated to this location. For the time being, while we get on our feet, it’s where we will be hosting smaller workshops and various limited seating OYOU activities. Donations enable us to do our programs and fund our mission. Larger events will remain at alternate locations. Please see our "events" for location.
The OYOU is also a mobile nonprofit on wheels providing music and other charitable services across Texas and throughout the United States and beyond. We take the love of music, writing, and the arts; into rural communities, elderly care facilities, group homes, and schools. Contact us if this is of interest and we will send you additional information.
